All our Uni-Throaters, Uni-Neckers, and Uni-Throater/Neckers are sold with two Brass Nuts for controlling depth of cut. Sold separately, they replace lost or damaged nuts. Be sure to specify the caliber when you order replacement Brass Nuts.
One nut is marked with grooves to indicate .005" (0.13mm)" of axial adjustment. Adjustments as small as .001" (.025mm) can be dialled in with confidence. The second nut is knurled and is used to lock the adjustment for repeatable operations.
NOTE: All PTG Reamers and Cutting Tools are designed to work with petroleum-based lubricant. Water-based lubricant can give acceptable results, however the life of the tool will be reduced. For best results use petroleum-based lubricant.
